Where to Stay in Phuket

Match your holiday style to the right area — nightlife, families, luxury resorts or culture in Old Town.

Where to Stay in Phuket

Overview

Phuket is not one destination but a patchwork of beaches and towns spread across a large island. Patong suits nightlife and first-time visitors who want everything walkable. Kata and Karon balance family beaches, surf in season and restaurants without Patong intensity.

Bang Tao and Laguna offer upscale resorts and golf, ideal for couples and longer relaxing stays. Phuket Old Town rewards culture lovers with Sino-Portuguese streets, cafes and Sunday markets, though beaches are a short drive away.

Rawai and Nai Harn in the south feel quieter and more residential. Kamala and Surin sit between party and polish. Splitting a trip across two bases works well for ten days or more.
